Any animal seized or impounded under this chapter may be redeemed by the owner within five (5) days upon paying the legal charges and expenses specified in section 6-3-6 of this chapter. If not redeemed, it shall be offered at sale at public auction to the highest bidder within two (2) days after publication in the official newspaper of the city of the place and date of such sale and a reasonable description or descriptions of the animal or animals to be sold. All monies received by the city from the sale of such animals shall be paid over to the city clerk. (Ord. 861, 10-11-1976)
