The licensee must submit with application the following.
(A) The number of animals owned or to be used in the business operation, the animal’s name, description, approximate weight, age, and date last examined by a veterinarian.
(B) The licensee shall provide two sets of photographs for each animal. Each set will include one photograph showing the front of the horse and one photograph showing the side of the horse with the name of the animal attached to photo.
(C) One set of photographs will be provided to the Police Department, the other is to be displayed with the vehicle license on the carriage that particular animal is working.
(D) Any new animal being entered into service will be required to have an examination by a veterinarian and be registered (see divisions (A), (B), and (C) of this section) before being allowed on the street.
(E) All animal examinations are to be conducted at the appropriate stable. It is the licensee’s responsibility to inform the Police Department as to the date and time of such examinations. Whenever possible, a Police Department employee will be present at the examination.
(F) Horse equipment such as harnesses, bridles, and bits must be properly fitted, kept clean, and in good repair. Collars, if used, should fit the animal properly.
(G) All horse drawn carriages shall display on both side and rear of each vehicle the last two digits of the license number assigned to it by the Director and shall be preceded by the legend, P.V. LIC. All lettering and numbers shall be two inches in height and shall contrast distinctly with the color of the vehicle. Required numbers and lettering shall be attached to the vehicle as approved by the Director prior to installation.
(H) If licensee adopts to display the company’s name on the vehicle, all lettering shall be a maximum of three inches in height and attached to the vehicle as approved by the Director.
(I) Permit fee, in an amount set by Village Council: the permit fee for such horse drawn taxis shall be as set forth in the village’s fee schedule, as adopted by reference in § 36.05.
