925.04 DESIGN OF PUBLIC AND BUILDING SEWERS.
   (a)   Approval. All designs shall be approved by the Village prior to construction.
   (b)   Connection to the Public Sewer. The connection of the building sewer into the public sewer shall be made at a location determined by the Village.
   (c)   Depth, Grade, Alignment and Change of Direction. All excavations required by the installation of a building sewer shall be open trench unless otherwise requested by the Village. No building sewer shall be laid parallel to or within three feet of any bearing wall which might be weakened. The depth shall be sufficient to afford protection from frost. The building sewer shall be laid at a uniform grade and in straight alignment insofar as possible. Changes in direction shall be made only with proper fittings.
   (d)   Independent Sewers Required: Exception. A separate and independent building sewer shall be provided for every building. However, when one building stands at the rear of another on an interior lot and no private sewer is available or can be constructed to the rear building through an adjoining alley, court, yard, or driveway, the building sewer from the front of the building may be extended to the rear building and the whole considered as one building sewer. Two adjacent buildings may use a common building sewer within the limits of the public right of way, however a separate sewer shall be required for each building. No other utilities will be permitted in the same trench as the building sewer.
   (e)   Laterals. The size and slope of the building sewer lateral shall be subject to the approval of the Village, but in no event shall the diameter be less than 4" nor more than 6". The slope of such pipe may not be less than one (1) foot per 100 feet.
   (f)   Removal of Sewer by Village; Charges a Lien. The Village may remove any drain or sewer constructed in violation of this section in so far as the same is within the limits of any public property, thereby disconnecting such sewer or drain from any public sewer. The costs and expenses of removal shall constitute a charge against the owner of and shall be a lien upon the property intended to be drained by such a drain or sewer, and if not paid upon demand by the Village the same shall be certified to the Wood County Auditor to be placed upon the duplicate, or shall be otherwise collected.
   (g)   Type of Pipe Required. PVC pipe and fittings meeting the requirements of ASTM 3034 SDR 35 shall be used for all building sewer connections. Pipe not meeting these specifications may be used only on the approval of the Village.
