§ 70.02 MULTI-WAY STOP SIGNS IN URBAN OR RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
   (A)   Adoption of policy by reference. Certain rural areas in the county are changing to residence districts or urban districts, as defined in I.C. 9-13-2-153 and 9-13-2-193, respectively.

   (B)   Purpose. The Board of Commissioners may determine it proper to install multi-way stop signs in urban or residential areas not normally warranting
stop signs in order to provide additional safety for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and residents exiting from driveways.

   (C)   Installation. The installation of multi-way stop signs in urban or residential areas may be recommended as a safety enhancement to the County Board of Commissioners by the County Highway Department and the County Sheriff’s Department, only when speed control posting, law enforcement efforts and field investigation have preceded the recommendation.

   (D)   Approval by recommendation. The County Board of Commissioners may approve the recom-mendation of the County Highway Department and the County Sheriff’s Department for installation of multi-way stop signs in urban or residential areas upon a majority vote of the members of the Board.
