§ 32.55 APPOINTMENT.
   (A)   The Board of Trustees may appoint auxiliary police officers, without power as conservators of the peace, as it deems necessary.
   (B)   Prior to appointment, all proposed auxiliary police officers shall be fingerprinted and an examination made of the fingerprints. No person shall be appointed as an auxiliary police officer if that person has been convicted of a felony or other crime involving moral turpitude.
   (C)   No appointment of an auxiliary police officer shall be made without the approval of the Chief of Police, and the Police Trustee Committee of the Village Municipal Board.
   (D)   The appointed auxiliary police officer must reside within the county and in or near the village. The appointed person must have a valid state driver’s license. It shall be the duty of every member of the auxiliary police unit to conduct themselves in a proper and law abiding manner at all times, on and off duty, and to refrain from unnecessary use of force, and refrain from unnecessary use of offensive language while on duty, and refrain from any activity which may reflect negatively on the auxiliary police unit and the village.
