During his or her term of office, the Chief of Police shall be a resident of the village. Pursuant to § 3.1-10-6(c) of the Illinois Municipal Code (65 ILCS 5/3.1-10-6(c)), no other part-time police officer appointed, hired, or otherwise retained by the village shall be required to reside within the corporate limits of said village, both at the time of appointment or while serving as a police officer.
