Said Street Commissioner shall notify all able-bodied male residents within the corporate limits of the village, who are over the age of 21 and under the age of 50 years, of the amount of road labor assessed against them for the year; and any person desirous of being exempt from said labor shall pay to the Street Commissioner $0.75 for each day’s road labor assessed against him, and the Street Commissioner shall give him a receipt therefor.
