The Village Treasurer shall give every person paying money into the Treasury duplicate receipts therefor, and to be filed with the Village Clerk; but in the event of the failure of such person to file such duplicate receipt, it shall be the duty of the Village Treasurer to file a copy of such receipts with the Clerk at the time of rendering his or her monthly report.
