§ 31.071 DUTIES.
   (A)   It shall be the duty of the Village Clerk to attend all regular and special meetings of the Village Board, and keep a correct journal of all the proceedings to be recorded in a book kept for that purpose. He or she shall record in a separate book all ordinances passed from time to time, and cause the same to be published in such a manner as such Board shall designate.
   (B)   He or she shall keep and faithfully preserve the corporation seal, and all papers, books, maps, and documents belonging to the village and not in actual use by other village officers, and shall deliver to the President and Board of Trustees all communications or documents addressed to the same. He or she shall provide, at the expense of the village, all necessary books, stationery, lights, and fuel for the use of the Village Board.
   (C)   He or she shall keep a correct account between the village and the Treasurer thereof by charging him or her with all sums received by him or her, as exhibited to the said Clerk in his or her duplicate receipts, and credit him or her with all money paid out by him or her by order of the President and Board of Trustees of said village, and he or she shall allow the Treasurer such other credits as he or she may be entitled to by law and the ordinances of said village.
   (D)   He or she shall, at the first regular meeting of the Board in the month of March in each year, lay before it a statement of the financial conditions and transactions of the village for the previous year, and cause the same to be published in such a manner as the Village Board may designate.
   (E)   The said Clerk shall keep a correct account between the village and the Collector of Taxes, and shall allow said Collector such credits as he or she may be allowed by law and the ordinances of the village; and the said Clerk shall do and perform such other duties as may be required of him or her by the ordinances of the village or resolutions of the Board.
