The village shall have the right to shut off the supply of water or gas whenever it is necessary to make repairs, improvements, enforce rules, or for any operating reason. In all cases, where possible, a reasonable notice of such circumstances will be given to the customers, but in an emergency water or gas may be shut off without notice. Such necessary repairs or work will be made by the village as rapidly as may be practical. The village shall not be responsible or liable because of any shut off or discontinuance of such service for any direct or resultant damage to any person, company, customer, or property.
