1473.05   VACANT PROPERTIES TO BE REGISTERED ANNUALLY.
   (a)   Owners of real property are required to register all vacant properties within 30 days of the vacancy and to re-register the properties annually thereafter. Structures that are vacant at the time of the enactment of this chapter must register within 30 days. Owners shall contact the City of Wayne Department of Building/Engineering to register any vacant properties.
   (b)   Fees are waived for properties owned by city, county, state and federal government agencies and properties owned by registered non-profits, subject to verification of 501c(3) status; however, registration is still required.
   (c)   Registration of property under this chapter is in addition to, and not in lieu of, the requirements of MCL 125.539(j)(i), which allows for demolition of vacant structures, or nuisance abatement by the City.
