From and after February 16, 1979, no newly constructed residential home shall be sold to any purchaser until the seller makes available to the purchaser, at the purchaser's option, a warranty of construction against structural defects equivalent to the warranty plan approved for builders and purchasers by the Southern Michigan Home Owners Warranty Corporation.
