1416.02 ADOPTION OF THE MICHIGAN MECHANICAL CODE; PURPOSES; FILE COPIES; CONFLICTS.
   (a)   That certain document, five complete copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk for public use and inspection, being marked and designated as the current Michigan Mechanical Code and the Michigan Residential Code, is hereby adopted as the Mechanical Code of the City, by authority conferred on the Michigan State Construction Code Commission by Section 8 of Act No. 230 of the Public Acts of 1972, as amended, being M.C.L.A. 125.1506, as a means to establish standards in terms of performance objectives, implemented by specific requirements, which provide inadequate, defective or unsafe mechanical installations within the City. Each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such Code and Rules are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as fully as if set forth in this chapter, except as may be amended in this chapter.
   (b)   In the event of a conflict between any of the provisions of the current Michigan Mechanical Code, as adopted in subsection (a) hereof, and any other provision of this chapter or any other local ordinance, resolution, rule or regulation, the local provision shall control. In the event of a conflict between any of the provisions of the current Michigan Mechanical Code, as adopted in subsection (a) hereof, and any State law, rule or regulation, the stricter standard shall control.
