1412.10 APPLICATION OF CODE TO SINGLE-FAMILY HOMEOWNERS.
   Nothing contained in this chapter shall prohibit any bona fide homeowner from personally installing, altering or repairing electrical wiring, fixtures or apparatus in his or her own single-family residence, provided that such owner:
   (a)   Applies for and secures a permit in accordance with this chapter, except for minor repairs;
   (b)   Pays required fees;
   (c)   Takes and passes an oral or written examination evidencing the fact that he or she is competent to install, alter or repair electrical wiring, fixtures or apparatus in accordance with the requirements of this chapter;
   (d)   Does the work himself or herself in accordance with this chapter;
   (e)   Applies for inspection; and
   (f)   Receives approval of the Building Official.
