Except as hereinafter provided, this chapter shall apply to the installation and maintenance of all electrical wiring, electrical materials and electrical devices in the City. Existing installations must substantially conform to the standards of this chapter and present no apparent danger to life or property through the methods of installation or operation; otherwise, they must be re-done in conformity with this chapter. An installation permit previously obtained as required by any other ordinance of the City will be honored.
