1040.05 SEWER CONNECTION REQUIRED.

   Every person owning or using property in the City, upon which sewage is created, is hereby required to provide an adequate connection with a sanitary sewer line of the City whenever one is available. Every person owning or using property in the City upon which water is used, is hereby required to provide an adequate connection to the Municipal water supply whenever it is available.

1040.06 DUMPING AND DISPOSING OF SEWAGE.

   No person shall dump or dispose of sewage in any manner in the City otherwise than through the sanitary sewer lines of the City whenever the same are available.

1040.07 DISCHARGE OF SURFACE DRAINAGE TO SANITARY SEWERS.

   No person shall dump or dispose of surface drainage into any sanitary sewer line of the City without first obtaining the written permission of the Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department therefor.

1040.08 INSPECTIONS.

   The Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department shall have the right to enter any premises, inspect any installation connecting to the water or sewer facilities of the City and examine any of the matter being dumped into such installations.

1040.09 DISCHARGE OF HARMFUL MATTER INTO SEWERS; REMEDY OF CITY.

   If, in the opinion of the Superintendent of the Department of Water and Sewers, any harmful matter is found being dumped into the City sewer lines, causing excessive depreciation or damage, beyond that generally anticipated, he or she shall report his or her findings to the City Manager, who may order the use of such sewer line discontinued or direct that an additional charge be made for the use thereof, commensurate with the additional burden caused thereby, which action may be reviewed by Council, whose decision shall be final.

1040.10 CONTRACT BETWEEN CITY AND USERS. (REPEALED)

   (EDITOR'S NOTE: Section 1040.10 was repealed by Ordinance 1990-01, passed January 2, 1990.)

1040.11 TRANSFERS OF COMMON-SERVICE PREMISES; SEPARATE OWNERSHIP REQUIRED.

   In cases where a number of persons or premises are supplied through one meter and one service for either water or sewer, if one or more of such buildings or premises are sold or transferred, or otherwise pass under separate ownership, the owners shall disconnect such building, buildings or premises and provide direct, individual installations for water and/or sewer for each separate building or premises, provided, however, that the provisions of this section do not apply to condominiums developed pursuant to Chapter 1253 of these Codified Ordinances.
