(a) No person shall willfully or maliciously damage or cause to be damaged any wire, cable, conduit, apparatus or equipment of a grantee, or commit any act with intent to cause damage to any wire, cable, conduit, apparatus or equipment of a grantee, or improperly tap, tamper with or connect any wire, cable, conduit, device or equipment of a grantee with intent to obtain a signal or impulse without authorization of the grantee. This section shall not prevent a grantee from removing, disconnecting or otherwise rendering inoperable any of the grantee's apparatus or equipment attached or in any way connected to such grantee's facilities, if done for reasonable cause. This section is not intended to apply to additional outlets or to VCR and other connections made by subscribers without intent to obtain a signal or impulse without authorization of a grantee.
(b) The prohibitions, penalties and remedies set forth in this section and in Section 809.99 are in addition to the penalties and remedies for theft of cable service provided by Federal and State law.
