§ 153.258 DESIGN STANDARDS.
   The provisions below represent the minimum standards required for compliance with this chapter. These regulations are not intended to suppress creative design concepts or the use of variety in the landscape plan. Whenever practical, existing trees and vegetation should be preserved and incorporated into the overall design and layout of the site.
   (A)   Minimum size. The minimum size for required plantings, other than those in required buffers, shall be as follows:
      (1)   Deciduous overstory trees shall be a minimum size of two-inch caliper at two feet above ball.
      (2)   Evergreen trees shall be a minimum height of six feet above grade.
      (3)   Ornamental trees shall be a minimum one and one-half-inch caliper in size.
   (B)   Minimum quantity. The minimum number of plantings per site shall be as follows:
      (1)   Two trees shall be overstory shade trees.
      (2)   For all uses except one- and two-family residential dwellings, a minimum of 25% of all required trees shall be evergreen trees.
      (3)   For single-family residential, one-half of the tree requirement shall be provided in the rear yard.
   (C)   Planting requirement. Values expressed in the table below are in addition to plantings required in buffer, screening, or parking lot plantings.

Two trees per dwelling unit (does not include street trees)
Three trees per 2,000 square feet of provided open space
