186.21 LEGISLATIVE INTENT; MUNICIPAL HOME RULE.
This Chapter 186 is being updated to the specifications mandated by the Ohio General Assembly from its enactment of ORC Chapter 718, referenced above. The Village of Waverly asserts and reiterates its rights granted to all municipalities under the Ohio Constitution, one of which is that a municipality shall have authority to exercise all powers of local self-government, with the municipal taxing power being one of such powers. Nothing contained in this Chapter 186 shall infer or suggest that the State of Ohio has superseded the Village of Waverly with regards to such authority or these powers. Chapter 186 will be amended from time to time to reflect updated Ohio laws regarding the same.
