909.06 BOND.
   No person shall construct or repair sidewalks in the City until he has furnished a bond acceptable to the Director of Public Service and payable to the City, or the property owner making a private contract with the principal. The bond shall guarantee workmanship and make the principal liable for personal injury damages due to faulty workmanship for a period of one year. The bond shall be in the amount of one of the following sums:
 
(a)    Twenty-one to forty square feet       $200.00
(b)    Over forty to one hundred square feet    500.00
(c)    Over one hundred square feet       2,000.00
   (d)    Contractors contemplating sidewalk construction in any one year in a dollar amount in excess of two thousand dollars ($2,000) shall provide bond in an amount equal to the dollar amount of the contemplated work.
   (e)    Property owners constructing or repairing sidewalks contiguous to their property shall not be required to give bond.
