(A) There is hereby created a Park Board consisting of five members who shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to approval by Council by a vote of not less than three-fourths of its members. Members of the Park Board created by ordinances adopted under the general statutory plan of government serving at the effective date of this Charter shall continue to serve as members of the Park Board created by this Charter until the expiration of their terms of office. Thereafter, members of the Park Board shall be appointed to serve for terms of five years, provided that initial appointments under this Charter may be for lesser terms of office and in a manner to assure that one member of the Park Board shall be appointed each year.
(B) The Park Board shall have those powers, duties and functions as provided in this Charter and by ordinance or resolution.
