957.04 MUNICIPAL RESERVOIR.
      (a)    Certain Acts Prohibited. It is unlawful to:
            (1)    Operate any motor driven vehicle, of any design whatsoever, any place on a reservoir property other than those roadways designated for public access to parking, picnic areas, observation, boat launching and landing areas. Motor driven vehicle includes but is not limited to snowmobiles, all terrain vehicles, and four-wheel drive vehicles.
            (2)    Operate any motor vehicle, of any design whatsoever, anywhere on reservoir property contrary to the instructions of any traffic-control device, light, or sign.
            (3)    Park any motor vehicle at any other location than those designated as parking areas.
            (4)    Tamper with or remove any sign placed by the City or the Department of Natural Resources or tamper with or remove any cable or other device designed to restrict public access.
            (5)    Alter, deface, or destroy any sign, structure, tree, shrub, fence, barrier, or any other physical feature located on reservoir property.
            (6)    Remove, rearrange, or throw any stones placed along an embankment as wave protection or any stone placed as road surface, boat launching surface, or decorative purpose. Also, any stone, concrete, or similar fixtures placed or erected by the City or Department of Natural Resources to provide a specific service.
           (7)    Dispose of any items in the water, on the inside or outside embankment, on the ground or roadways of the recreational area. Refuse containers are provided for this purpose.
           (8)    Allow animals to swim in reservoirs.
            (9)    Drink or possess alcoholic beverage, on reservoir property.
            (10)    Possess, carry, or use firearms or dangerous ordnances (fireworks and the like) on reservoir property.
            (11)    Commit any act that is detrimental to the use of the reservoir or pond as a public water supply source or public recreation area or interfere with those people who are engaged in the lawful use of the reservoir for recreational or City or state purposes.
            (12)    To draw water into bulk tanks, single or multiple containers for the purpose of supplying water for use other than recreational at the facility.
   
   (b)    Swimming Prohibited. Recreational swimming, scuba diving, or wading is not allowed in reservoirs.
   (c)    Boating. The operation of watercraft on the reservoirs shall be subject to watercraft laws of the state.
            (1)    No person shall operate or use a conveyance equipped with a gasoline engine on either the old or new reservoir.
            (2)    Rowboats, sailboats, canoes, paddle boats, rubber rafts (military style), electric powered engines and wind surf craft are permitted on the reservoirs.
            (3)    Inner tubes, rafts, and inflatable flotation devices for recreational swimming are not permitted on reservoirs.
            (4)    Ice boats are permitted on the reservoirs.
            (5)    All persons operating or using any type of watercraft will wear a state and federal government approved life jacket or life belt.
            (6)    All watercraft will be launched or landed at the boat ramps provided except in case of emergency.
            (7)    No person shall ski on reservoirs.
            (8)    All persons shall embark and disembark from boats at the boat ramp.
            (9)    Persons may boat on reservoirs 24 hours a day every day of the week.
            (10)    No boat shall cross float ropes used to signify specialty use or restricted areas.
            (11)    Reckless operation or speeding of watercraft will be sufficient grounds for removal from reservoirs, citation, and denial of use of the facilities.
            (12)    Sailboats will be operated in a prudent manner to avoid capsizing.
                 A.    In the event a boat is capsized, the operator shall right it as quickly as possible and return to the interior of the craft.
                  B.    Intentional capsizing to provide a pretext for swimming will result in expulsion from the facility, citation, or denial of future use.
            (13)    All watercraft using reservoirs will be required to be numbered and licensed according to watercraft laws of the state.
            (14)    Upon receiving a command or request from any law enforcement officer, park ranger, game warden, or duly authorized person, the operator or occupants of any watercraft shall immediately comply with such command on request.
   (d)    Fishing.
            (1)    Recreational fishing will be permitted on the reservoirs.
            (2)    Recreational ice fishing will be permitted on the reservoirs.
                  A.    Ice fishing sheds will be marked with name and address of owner.
                  B.    No ice fishing sheds will be allowed to remain on the reservoirs when not in use.
            (3)    Persons fishing will comply with state laws governing recreational or sport fishing.
  
   (e)    Hunting.
            (1)    No hunting will be permitted at reservoir facilities
            (2)    It is unlawful to discharge any firearms within 400 feet of any structure or parking lot located on or contiguous to reservoir property.
   
   (f)    Winter Activities.
            (1)    No ice skating, sledding, snowboarding and snow skiing will be permitted on the reservoirs or surrounding areas.
   (g)    Camping; Picnics. 
      (1)    Camping and picnicking will be done only with prior approval
      (2)    No campfires or cooking fires will be permitted without prior approval from the Wauseon Police Dept.
