(a) Any structure containing four or more dwelling units shall be required to be equipped with a 110 volt hardwire smoke detector which includes a battery backup wired in parallel so that if any one smoke detector is activated, all will be activated.
(b) Every dwelling unit or rooming unit leased to an individual or family shall contain a tamperproof battery operated smoke detector which has a term of service of at least ten years.
(c) The Fire Chief shall determine the number and location of all smoke detectors required under this section.
