The Building Code shall be administered by the Building Official who is hereby designated to be the head or acting head of the Department of Building and Housing and such deputies and assistant inspectors as may be authorized and appointed by the Mayor. The Building Official shall have the qualifications required by the Code, and shall have all the duties and responsibilities required by the Code. The Building Official, together with his staff, shall receive such compensation for their service as determined by Council.
