Home occupations are permitted accessory uses in residential dwelling units in all zoning districts only as long as all the following conditions are observed:
(a) Such occupation shall be conducted solely by one or more persons, all of whom reside within the dwelling unit, and where no persons are employed other than the resident family unit and domestic help;
(b) The use must be clearly incidental and secondary to the use of the dwelling unit for residential purposes and shall not change the character thereof;
(c) No more than one room or 25% of the gross area of one floor of such dwelling shall be used for such purpose. Use of accessory buildings for these purposes is prohibited;
(d) The home occupation must be registered with the Code Administrator by the owner, lessee, or other person who has a legal right to use the dwelling unit and who has the vested right to conduct such home occupation without securing special permission to do so;
(e) No traffic shall be generated by such home occupation in greater volume than would normally be expected in a residential neighborhood, and any need for parking generated by the conduct of such home occupation shall meet the off-street parking requirements as specified in this Zoning Code, and shall not be located in the required front yard;
(f) No equipment or process shall be used in such home occupation which created noise, vibration, glare, fumes, odors or electrical interference detectable to the normal fences off the lot, if the occupation is conducted in a single family residence, or outside the dwelling unit if conducted in other than a single family residence;
(g) No equipment or process shall be used which creates visual or audible interference in any radio or television receivers off the premises, or causes fluctuations in the line voltage off the premises;
(h) There shall be no change in the outside appearance of the building or premises, or other visible evidence of the conduct of such home occupation other than one sign not to exceed four square feet in area, nonilluminated and mounted flat against the wall of the principal building;
(i) No article or service shall be sold on the premises except as such produced by such home occupation;
(j) There shall be no outside storage of materials or products of any kind;
(k) All internal alterations or construction shall be subject to approval by the Code Administrator and shall be subject to requirements of the Building Code.
