6-5-2: TRUANCY:
   A.   School Authority To Report Nonattendance To Police: Once the Chief of Police has been notified by the attendance officer of the school district or the principal of a school in the district, that a child who is not exempt from attendance at school pursuant to 70 Oklahoma Statutes section 10-105B, has been notified by said attendance officer that:
      1.   A child has been absent from class for three (3) or more days or parts of days within two (2) weeks and said absences were unexcused;
      2.   That the parent, guardian or responsible person of the absent child has been notified by written certified correspondence of the child's absence;
      3.   That within five (5) days of the receipt of said correspondence the parent, guardian or responsible person has not contacted the attendance officer and compelled the child's immediate return to school;
The Chief of Police shall draw a standard form of citation charging the parent, guardian or responsible person for violating a duty to compel attendance by the minor child at school.
   B.   Citation Charging Responsible Person: The attendance officer shall be required to sign the citation as complaining witness whereon the citation will be endorsed by the City Attorney, and the parent, guardian or responsible person will be charged and prosecuted pursuant to 70 Oklahoma Statutes section 10-105D.
