2-2-6: POWERS AND DUTIES GENERALLY:
Except as otherwise provided herein, the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall have all powers, duties and authority concerning the hiring, appointment, promotion, demotion, removal, suspension or discharge over full-time sworn members of the Police and Fire Departments as provided in the provisions of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Act (65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-1 et seq.) and shall have the power to make rules and regulations as long as they do not conflict with the ordinances of the City.
