A. Possession: It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly possess 29.9 grams or less of any substance containing cannabis as defined by the Cannabis Control Act (720 ILCS 550/1 et seq.)
B. Exception: There shall be no violations of this section if a person is otherwise in lawful possession of any substance containing cannabis under and pursuant to the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act or the Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act (410 ILCS 130/1 et seq.)
C. Penalty: Any person found to be in violation of this section shall be fined in accordance with the following schedule:
1. Possession of 00 - 9.9 grams: One hundred dollars ($100.00).
2. Possession of 10 - 19.9 grams: Two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00).
3. Possession of 20 - 29.9 grams: Five hundred dollars ($500.00).
D. Administration Adjudication: Citations issued for violating this section shall be administered through title 1, chapter 4, article A of this Code.
