A. Coordinator Designated; Qualifications: A Crime-Free Housing Coordinator shall be designated by the Building Inspector. The Crime-Free Housing Coordinator may be a civilian or a sworn officer. The Crime-Free Housing Coordinator shall be trained through the International Crime-Free Housing Association.
B. Duties:
1. It shall be the duty of the Crime-Free Housing Coordinator to provide the Building Official with a list of landlords and rental managers that have attended a crime-free housing seminar, along with dates of attendance, and a verification that the landlord or rental manager has otherwise complied with this chapter so as to be eligible for issuance, transfer or renewal of a crime-free residential rental license or to conduct business on behalf of a landlord, as the case may be.
2. It shall be the duty of the Crime-Free Housing Coordinator to notify the Building Official any time a police officer issues a citation to a landlord or rental manager for a violation of this chapter or any time a police report is generated, a ticket is issued, or an arrest is made related to any criminal or quasi-criminal act occurring within a dwelling unit or the common area of a building containing a dwelling unit.
