Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, an employer, owner, occupant, lessee, operator, manager, or other person in control of any public place, place of employment, or outdoor venue may designate a nonenclosed area of a public place, place of employment, or outdoor venue not otherwise governed by this chapter, as an area where smoking is also prohibited; provided, that such employer, owner, lessee or occupant shall conspicuously post signs prohibiting smoking in the manner described in subsection 5-8-4A of this chapter.
