Nothing in this Chapter shall require the Municipality to indemnify any officer or employee from recoveries made against him or her for suits by or on behalf of the Municipality.
The City Council may, however, authorize the Municipal Solicitor to represent any officer or employee in a suit brought by a taxpayer in behalf of the Municipality against the officer or employee.
