139.01  POLICE PROTECTION PROVIDED TO OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES.
   (a)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.041, the Police Department may provide police protection to any county, municipal corporation, or township of this State, or to a governmental entity of an adjoining state without a contract to provide for said police protection.
   (b)   Whenever officers of the Police Department act pursuant to this section such action is hereby declared to be within the scope of their employment so long as such act would be within such scope if done within the corporate limits of the Municipality and all legal protections afforded said officers in the course of their employment within such corporate limits shall continue when acting in another jurisdiction pursuant to Division (a) above.
