It shall be the duty of the Building Official to enforce all laws relating to the construction, alteration, repair, removal, and demolition of buildings and structures. By and with the advice and consent of the Municipal Administrator and Council, he may permit, on the basis of duly authenticated reports from recognized sources, the use of new materials or modes of construction not provided for in this Building Code. He may, for the purpose of carrying out the intent of this Building Code, adopt accepted standards of material or workmanship of federal or state bureaus, national technical organizations, or fire underwriters.
