(a) The office of the Building Inspector, who shall hereafter be known as the Building Official, is created. The Building Official shall be appointed by the Municipal Administrator. His appointment shall continue during good behavior and satisfactory service. He shall not be removed from office except for cause after full opportunity has been given him to be heard before Council on specific charges.
(b) The Lucas County Building Regulation Department is appointed as the Building Official to administer and enforce the Ohio Basic Building Code.

(c) The Lucas County Building Regulation Department is appointed as the Building Official to administer and enforce the Residential Code of Ohio for One-, Two-, and Three-Family Dwellings as adopted by the Ohio Board of Building Standards pursuant to Ohio R.C. 3781.10.
