SECTION 5.03 LAW DEPARTMENT.
   A Law Department is hereby created, which shall be headed by a Law Director who shall be appointed by the Council.  The Law Director shall be an Attorney-at-Law, admitted to the practice of law in the State of Ohio.  Assistant Law Directors may be provided for by the Law Director, with the approval of Council, and shall perform the same duties as the Law Director in his absence.  Any Assistant Law Directors shall have the same qualifications as the Law Director.
   He shall be an advisor of, and attorney and counsel for the Municipality, and for all the officers and divisions thereof in all matters relating to their official duties, and shall, when requested by the Municipal Administrator, give legal opinion in writing.  He shall represent the Municipality and/or its representatives in all suits or cases to which it may be a party; and shall prosecute for all offenses against the ordinances of the Municipality and such offenses against the laws of Ohio as may be required of him.  He shall, on the request of the Municipal Administrator, or by motion of Council, prepare contracts, legislation, bonds, and other instruments in writing and over his signature, in which the Municipality is concerned.  He shall perform all such other duties as the Municipal Administrator may impose upon him that are consistent with his office of Law Director.
