931.14  WATERLINE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE.
   (a)   The Municipality shall not be liable for damage resulting from interruption of water service. Temporary shutdown may occur as a result of improvements or repairs to the water distribution system or caused by problems which may develop in the Lucas County transmission line(s). Whenever possible, and as time permits, all customers will be notified of such shutdowns or interruptions of service.
   (b)   The Municipality shall not be liable for interruptions, shortages or insufficiency of supply or for any loss or damage caused thereby, if caused by accident, act of God, fire, riots, war or any other cause.
   (c)   The Municipality does not guarantee a fixed or continuous pressure, these being subject to the variable conditions which may arise in the operation and maintenance of the water distribution system, or affected by problems which may develop in the Lucas County transmission line(s). The Municipality shall not be liable for damage due to change in water pressure.
   (d)   Notification of Water turn-Off. In advance of the water main being shut off, for reasons of repairs or alterations, all customers affected may be notified, whenever reasonably possible. Notice shall be considered to have been given when and if some person at each address has been told, either in person or in writing, of such action.
   (e)   Waterline Leaks/Breaks. In case of leaks or breaks, and/or failure in water mains, tower levels or problems which may develop in the Lucas county transmission line(s), the supply of water may be shut off without prior notice.
   (f)   Water Supply and/or Pressure. The Municipality whenever it finds it necessary or convenient, for the purpose of making repairs or improvements to the water distribution system, shall have the right to temporarily suspend the delivery of water and it shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused thereby. Repair or improvements shall be accomplished as rapidly as possible at such time so as to cause the least inconvenience to the customer.
   (g)   The Water Department disclaims any responsibility for damage caused by water leaks due to any open pipes, leaks, broken pipes, meters or fixtures, to any personal or real property. (1980 Code 50.14; Ord. 23-97.)
