907.10 DEAD OR DISEASED TREE REMOVAL ON PRIVATE PROPERTY.
   The Municipality shall have the right to cause the removal of any dead or diseased trees on private property within the Municipality when such tree constitutes a serious hazard to life and property, and/or harbor insects or disease which constitute a potential threat to other trees within the Municipality. The Tree Commission will notify in writing the owner of such trees. Removal shall be done by said owners at their own expense within thirty days after the date of service of notice. In the event of failure of owners to comply with such provisions, it shall be lawful for the Municipality, its employees or agents to enter onto the property to remove such trees or shrubs, and to bill the property owner for the actual cost of the work, or if necessary to assess the property owner for same as provided by law in the case of special assessments.
