A Mayor shall be elected for a term of four (4) years. The Mayor shall be a full member of Council and shall have the full power of a member of Council in being able to vote, introduce ordinances, resolutions, and motions, and the right to participate in the discussions of all matters coming before Council. In addition, he shall preside at all meetings of Council, shall be recognized by the governor of the State of Ohio for the purposes of military law and as head of this municipal government for all ceremonial purposes, and shall perform all other such duties as provided for in this Charter
During the absence or disability of the Mayor, the Vice-Mayor shall exercise all the powers and perform all the duties of the Mayor. If a vacancy occurs in the office of Mayor, the Vice-Mayor shall become Mayor for the remainder of the unexpired term.
Any person elected to the office of Mayor for two (2) consecutive terms shall thereafter be ineligible for that office for the next term.
