(A) There is hereby created the position of Deputy Town Manager. The Deputy Town Manager shall be employed by the Town Council. The Town Council shall fix the compensation, benefits and terms of employment, which employment shall be at the pleasure of the Town Council. The Deputy Town Manager works under the supervision and delegation of the Town Manager and is accountable to the Town Manager.
(B) The Deputy Town Manager shall at all times be an employee “At Will” as that term is defined under Indiana law. Provided, however, there is a six-month probationary period.
(C) The Deputy Town Manager may also serve as the code enforcement officer at the request of Town Manager or Town Council.
(D) No member of the Town Council shall, during the time for which he or she has been elected, be employed as a Deputy Town Manager.
(E) The Deputy Town Manager need not be a resident of the town at the time of his or her employment, but may reside outside of the town while in office only with the approval of the Town Council.
