7-1-7: REGULATION OF ROADSIDE MEMORIALS:
The placement of a roadside memorial is not allowed along a public sidewalk, roadway or right-of-way owned by the City (or maintained by the City). Upon the discovery of a roadside memorial, the City, through the Police Department or Code enforcement can remove the roadside memorial, and store for up to a period of sixty (60) days. If the roadside memorial has not been claimed after such sixty (60) day period, the City may dispose of said roadside memorial materials.
The definition of a "roadside memorial" for purposes of this chapter will be the placement of materials along a public sidewalk, roadway or right-of-way owned by the City (or maintained by the City), as a tribute to a person or event. A violation of this section will be deemed as a Municipal infraction and a citation may be issued to the person or persons who placed the roadside memorial. (Ord. 5280, 5-4-2015)
