For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
FIRM. Any person, partnership, corporation or association.
HYDROSTATIC TESTING. Pressure testing by appropriate hydrostatic methods for:
(1) Fire extinguisher shells which are not Interstate Commerce Commission specification compressed gas cylinders;
(2) Interstate Commerce Commission specification compressed gas cylinders used for or with fire extinguishers; and
(3) Certain hose assemblies.
PORTABLE. An extinguisher designed for and capable of being readily moved from place to place.
SERVICE and SERVICING. Servicing portable fire extinguishers includes testing, inspecting, maintaining, repairing, filling, charging, refilling and recharging as described in the National Fire Protection Association for the Maintenance and Use of Portable Fire Extinguishers (No. 10A, most recent edition).
