§ 92.02 COMMISSION; CREATED; APPOINTMENT; TERMS; DUTIES.
   (A)   (1)   There is hereby created an Animal Shelter Commission consisting of five members. The Board of Aldermen shall appoint the members. If a vacancy occurs for any reason prior to the expiration of any member's term the Board of Aldermen shall appoint a replacement to serve for the remainder of the existing term.
      (2)   The Animal Control Warden shall be an ex-officio member of the Animal Shelter Commission.
   (B)   (1)   The Commission created by division (A) above shall consult with the Animal Control Warden and be advisory to the Mayor in matters pertaining to:
         (a)   Maintenance and operation of the animal shelter;
         (b)   Formulation of policy regarding animal shelter activities; and
         (c)   Hiring, supervision and evaluation of the Animal Control Warden.
      (2)   In the event of a vacancy in the position of Animal Control Warden, the Commission shall make recommendations to the Mayor pertaining to the hiring of the Animal Control Warden. The Animal Shelter Commission shall also make recommendations to the Mayor and Animal Control Warden to promote a high standard of the humane care and treatment of animals within the city.
