For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
INTERLOCAL ADVISORY BOARD. A board established pursuant to this chapter.
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT. An agreement entered into pursuant to this chapter.
LEGISLATIVE BODY. Has the meaning assigned to it by Conn. Gen. Stat. § 1-1 but, where the legislative body is the town meeting, the requirements of this chapter as to holding public hearings by a legislative body shall not apply. As to the City of Waterbury, the LEGISLATIVE BODY shall be the Board of Aldermen.
PARTICIPATING PUBLIC AGENCY. A party to an interlocal agreement.
PUBLIC AGENCY. Any city, town or borough, including the City of Waterbury, or any district as defined in Conn. Gen. Stat. § 7-324, or any metropolitan district or any municipal district of the State of Connecticut created under Conn. Gen. Stat. § 7-330, and any local governmental unit, subdivision or special district of another state.
