(A) In accordance with § 7C-1(m) of the Charter of the city, the Director of Finance is responsible for the supervision of the collection of taxes. The Director shall appoint a subordinate employee to assume the functions of the Tax Collector as set forth in the general statutes, the Charter and these ordinances.
(B) Upon designation the Tax Collector and any deputies or Acting Collectors shall be sworn in, in accordance with the general statutes.
(C) Where the term
COLLECTOR or TAX COLLECTOR is used in this code, it shall refer to the subordinate employee appointed by the Director of Finance in accordance with the Charter of the city.
(D) In order to facilitate the collection process the Tax Collector may utilize the services of other departments of the city and/or obtain the services of vendors who provide collection services in accordance with the general statutes, Charter and the code of ordinances.
