A. Approval of Street Names, New Developments: All proposed public and private street names and types must be submitted and approved by the community development department and the public works department at the time the plats are under review by Washington City.
B. Approval of Street Names, Existing Developments: When it is necessary to change the name or type of an existing public or private street, the street name and type or number and the corresponding intersection coordinates must be approved by the community development department and the public works department to eliminate confusion and duplication with other streets throughout the county. When a city determines to change the name of a street, it should schedule a public hearing to convey information about proposed name changes to citizens who are affected, and to eliminate capricious actions.
