(A) The following provisions shall constitute the rules and standards concerning the extension of water mains and related facilities. The city waterworks may, upon written request for service by a prospective customer or group of prospective customers located within the same neighborhood, make an extension of a water main available as necessary to provide services.
(B) This is subject, however, to the following conditions:
(1) The Waterworks Department will extend their service line to the customer’s property line within a maximum of 300 feet from the city’s main which 300-foot extension shall be free of charge to the customer;
(2) Any extension beyond 300 feet will be charged to the customer at a price determined by the current market value of all parts, labor and equipment needed to complete the extension;
(3) The customer shall pay any and all tap-on and turn-on fees in accordance with the schedule of the fees set forth in the Water Rate Ordinance in effect at the time of the extension;
(4) The Waterworks Department will place the meter in a location convenient for the Department; and
(5) In the event easements across private property are required in order to complete the extension, it shall be the responsibility of the customer to obtain an easement in form satisfactory to the city and to pay any and all costs associated with the procurement and recording of the easement.
