It is a violation of this chapter to:
(A) Operate in the city a golf cart or off-road vehicle which has not been properly registered or renewed or fails to properly display the permit sticker on the vehicle;
(B) Fail to maintain the required proof of responsibility as required by Indiana law (currently codified at I.C. 9-24-2-3) and/or give notice to the City Clerk-Treasurer of a change in insurance coverage and/or ownership;
(C) Permit a golf cart or off-road vehicle owned by you to be operated by a person who is under the age of 16 years old or by a person who does not hold a valid driver's license;
(D) Fail to display a red or orange flag which extends above the highest point of the vehicle;
(E) Operate a golf cart or off-road vehicle which does not comply with any section of this chapter;
(F) Operate a golf cart or off-road vehicle on the streets, roads, alleys, rights-of-way or public parking lots in the City of Washington with a child under the age of 2 years old as a passenger;
(G) Operate a golf cart or off-road vehicle with passengers who are not seated or located in or on the seating compartment of the vehicle or a passenger who is not wearing a seat belt;
(H) Operate a golf cart or off-road vehicle on a sidewalk;
(I) Operate a gold cart or off-road vehicle on a street or through an intersection which has been designated a NO GOLF CART ON STREET or INTERSECTION, to include:
(1) The entire length of Business 50;
(2) The intersection of Highland Avenue and State Road 57;
(3) The intersection of Business 50 and East 11th street; and
(4) Others as they may be determined by the Washington Board of Public Works and Safety.
