For purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GOLF CART. A 4-wheeled motor vehicle originally and specifically designed and intended to transport 1 or more individuals and golf clubs for the purpose of playing the game of golf on a golf course.
OFF-ROAD VEHICLE.
(1) A motor-driven vehicle capable of cross-country travel:
(a) Without benefit of a road; and
(b) On or immediately over land, snow, ice, or other natural terrain.
(2) The term shall include:
(a) Side-by-sides (also known as UTVs or utility task vehicles);
(b) RTVs or rough terrain vehicles; and
(c) Low speed electric vehicles.
(3) The term does not include:
(a) ATVs or all-terrain vehicles; or
(b) Snowmobiles.
OPERATE. To exercise any control over the function or movement of a golf cart or off-road vehicle.
