§ 72.20 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this subchapter, a LARGE VEHICLE shall be defined as follows:
   (A)   Group A. Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the gross combined weight rating of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds. Examples include, but are not limited to:
      (1)   Tractors and semitrailers;
      (2)   Trucks and trailers;
      (3)   Double/triple trailers;
      (4)   Tank vehicles;
      (5)   Hazardous materials (HAZMAT); and
      (6)   Passenger vehicles.
   (B)   Group B. Any single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, or any vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating. Examples include, but are not limited to:
      (1)   Straight trucks 26,001 or more pounds GVWR;
      (2)   Buses 26,001 or more pounds, designed to transport more than 16 passengers, including the driver;
      (3)   Trailers not in excess of 10,001 pounds GVWR;
      (4)   Tank vehicles;
      (5)   Hazardous materials (HAZMAT); and
      (6)   Passenger vehicles.
   (C)   Group C. Any single vehicle less than 26,001 pounds GVWR, or any vehicle towing a vehicle or in excess of 10,001 pounds GVWR. This group applies to vehicles which are placarded for hazardous materials or designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver, or delivery vans. Examples include, but are not limited to:
      (1)   Single or combination vehicles, less than 26,001 pounds GVWR;
      (2)   Buses less than 26,001 GVWR, and designed to transport more than 16 passengers, including the driver;
      (3)   Hazardous materials (HAZMAT);
      (4)   Passenger vehicles; and
      (5)   Delivery vans.
   (D)   Group D. Any vehicle registered as a recreation vehicle or trailer for the primary use of transporting the owner's family members or guests or their possessions for non-business purposes. Examples include, but are not limited to:
      (1)   Campers;
      (2)   RV's; and
      (3)   Trailers for transporting personal possessions or equipment.
   (E)   Group E. All other motor trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, house trailers, semi-trailers, farm machinery and equipment having a load capacity in excess of 1½ tons, or a length in excess of 19 feet, or width in excess of 7 feet.
