For the purpose of this title, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
DRIVER. Any person who is in actual physical control of a vehicle.
LOADING ZONE. A space adjacent to the curb of a roadway for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of freight or passengers.
ONE-WAY STREET. A public right-of-way which is open to the use of public for vehicular travel in one designated direction only.
OPERATOR. Same as DRIVER.
PARALLEL PARKING. The parking of a vehicle in a line with the street curb or edge of a pavement with 2 wheels on the same side of the vehicle a maximum of 12 inches from the curb.
PARK or PARKING. The standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, for a period of time exceeding 2 minutes.
PARKING METER ZONE. A street or portion thereof which is described and established as a space within which the parking of vehicles shall be controlled and regulated with the aid of timing devices herein referred to as parking meters.
PERSON. A corporation, firm, partnership, association, organization or any other group acting as a unit, as well as a natural person.
STREET. Any public right-of-way designed and used for the movement of vehicles. A STREET may be designated as a road, boulevard, highway, place or way.
TRAFFIC-CONTROL SIGNAL. Any device manually, electrically or mechanically operated by which traffic is alternately directed to stop and to proceed.
VEHICLE. Any device in or upon which a person or property may be transported or drawn upon a street, excepting devices used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
